Hi, maybe a dumb question but if I try to install presets it installs and then it's not in the folder it's ment to be in. When I try to reinstall the presets it says they're already installed. Please help me!

Hi there. Firstly, make sure that you are installing the presets correctly.
You shouldn't ever have to look in folders while installing presets.
Then, have a look at the suggestions in this article
if you are still having issues with them.
After checking all those points, if they still won't sem to install correctly, try a clean re-install

I meant catagories, as in muzzle flash or neon light. I have already tried everything you summed up including a clean reinstall. I don't know what to do. Please help me!

Best I can do is suggest that maybe you overlooked something when going through that info.
Are you sure the files you are donwloading and installing have the complete .FXpreset_pack suffix?
What browser are you downloading with?
Are you downloading individual presets or using the basket to download a bunch at once?
What OS are you running?
Did you possibly skip a step in the clean re-install instructions?
Have a look at this video

I'm using Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard,
Using Firefox as my webbrowser and I'm using the proper .preset_pack extension. I'm using individual downloads. I didn't skip any steps in the reinstall process. Well, thats not strictly true, I didn't get the regestration box pop-up.
Sorry for my bad English, I'm a dutch twelve-year-old.

The included effects aren't there also, every time I reinstall the program it tries to import the included presets and then the registration window pops up and the program stops, the registation program stays open. When I open it again the included presets aren't there. They were never there, not even the first time I installed it.

Are you installing the software from an Admin account on your computer? When the activation wizard pops up, do you complete the activation? Can you provide more details about that stage in the process which you mentioned?

I'm installing from the admin account. I complete the registering progress. It starts to import the built-in presets and finishes and then immediately starts the registering progress.

I have the same problem. Whenever I try to use an effect that I have sucessfully downloaded and imported, it won't show. I click on the effect tab once, for e.x. particles, and no effects whatsoever will show. it's, "A total diggity-drag, yo!"

Navigate to this folder:
~/documents/FXhome/EffectsLab Pro 1.5/preset
And see if the presets are in the folder. If they are, try launching the application and importing them from this location.

You didn't specify where you saved your presets to did you?
When you first download you have to tell the computer where you want to save them such as your desktop/documents. If you don't do this you're going to have a tough time finding them.

I'm using xp on a netbook and interne explorer. I know where my presets are downloaded to, it won't work with either effectslab or compositelab, I've tried re-installing it 3 times, I've used a program key file and logged into my account, I've installed and reinstalled several presets to several different places, I've tried saving my own presets, I can't import media either (mov or avi), and I've got a bad case of diareah. Please help. It's been this way for several months!

For clarity's sake, re-installing and clean re-installing are very different processes. Make certain you follow every step of these instructions
As far as installing presets, everything you need to know is covered in this video.
My first suggestion - ditch the IE and use Firefox to download the preset files.

Sweet, my name's Axyl too, just spelled differently. But also, the clean re-install didn't work. I did everything the instructions said and it didn't work. If this info helps, when I try to import presets into effectslab pro, the presets in the folder- C:\Documents and Settings\Axyl Brosseau\My Documents\FXhome\EffectsLab Pro 1.5\preset
don't even show in the browser.

If the presets are in that location, but aren't showing up in EffectsLab itself, then there is a problem with the preset database for the program. The way to clear this up is a clean re-install. Which version of Windows are you running, and did you have to deal with that one folder being hidden when you did the clean re-install?

I run Windows XP and that I'm not positive on what folder you're talking about, but when I did the clean re-install, I deleted the FXhome folder in my documents and the one in the Application Data folder.

I believe its the one in the Applications Data folder that sometimes is hidden, sounds like you got it though.
Well, I suggest giving the clean re-install
another try or two to see if clears up. Make sure you re-download the latest installer from here
before installing each time you do so.

Don't worry about taking up our time, you have every right to ask us to help you sort out why your software isn't working correctly.
Have you submitted a ticket to Support on this issue? I'm unsure what else toe problem could be; maybe is something related to Windows that I'm not familiar with.
