I have pinnacle studio 12 ultimate. After I have rendered my video in FXlab, in the mov format (a file type pinnacle supports), when I try and put it into a Pinnacle project it says the file could not be opened. However I have played it successfully in quicktime. I dont know what is wrong, could someone help?

What codec did you select when you rendered out of EffectsLab? Its possible that Pinnacle isn't compatible with that particular codec. Try rendering to a different codec in .mov format, and see if that works.

Put it on frame by frame (PNG file.) Do this by going to 1. Render 2. Render Settings 3. Output container, scroll down to Image stream.
Then go to Pinnacle after rendered in FX Home. Go to 1. Setup 2. Video and Audio Preferences 3. Project Preferences 4. Change titles/stills time to 00.01. Then drag in all in to the pinnacle project and drag the sound in as no visual. It will be synced up perfectly.
(Make sure to change to title/stills preference back after you're done.)
By the way, I use Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate only with FX Home.

I have Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12 and keep getting the error "the video file could not be opened" when I try to open an HD .mov video shot with my canon rebel T3i.

What should I do!?

I would check your pinnacle documentation to see which formats of video it supports, then convert your footage to one of those formats.
