I recently downloaded the new update of the FXhome products for Windows 7 even though I own Windows XP because...

Just to be sure, I don't need the update if I have XP right?
I'd still recommending updating, particularly if you're on XP 64. But this is primarily a Windows 7 update, yes.
The problem is that I was going to import an AlamDV2. I opened up Effectslab and after the menu asking me what I wanted to do, (Blank timeline, etc.) I clicked on "Import Image Stream". I went to the AlamDV2 on my desktop and after getting to the VC1 part, I double clicked. Then a message came up and said "Macromedia Projecter has incountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then it asked me if I wanted to send an error report so I did, and the software exited out.

How do I fix this so that I can use AlamDV2s?Thanks for your time! -Storm Grenade

I'd give a clean re-install a shot. Did you perform a clean re-install when upgrading to the latest version?

Do all image streams exhibit this behavior, or might it just be the one?

The version it says at the bottom is v1.005.100 Is this the newer Version?

It did the above for 3 out of 4 AlamDV2s I tried. The ones I tried were:

http://fxhome.com/alamdv2/plugins/view/475/max-gore-01
http://fxhome.com/alamdv2/plugins/view/1200/force-lightning
http://fxhome.com/alamdv2/plugins/view/1451/x-wing-stills
and
http://fxhome.com/alamdv2/plugins/view/1452/neat-muzzle-smoke

Out of those the only one that worked is the smoke.(bottom one) I'm not sure how to run a clean re-install. Can you help?

Sure, no problem. There are detailed instructions posted at the top of each support forum, both in the Support FAQ found there, and in a separate post titled Clean Re-install Instructions. So if you ever need them again, that's where they can be found. You can also find them in the knowledgebase, as well, which is where the link in the FAQ will take you.

Did you unzip the AlamDV2 plugins before trying to use them?

Thanks I"ll definately give it a go, Axeman. I'll post back after I"m done with the re-install.

And yes, Tarn, I unzipped it using WinRAR.

Alrighty y'all I did a clean re-install and it turned out that the AlamDV2 still freezes and makes the program exit. Any other help?

BTW-Sorry for the double post but I needed to get your attention.

Maybe try importing them into a blank timeline and then transform them into .mov files?

I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Soooo...I did however make a blank timeline and imported them into the program by going to the "Media" tab, right clicking, etc. It worked fine however it still doesn't let me import them from the very beginning menu, "Import Image Stream". This may be a problem with the software itself.

It means go ahead and rendered the imported image streams as video files and use the video files as the stock footage, instead of importing a image stream...
Glad it worked for you though...
