Every time I try and extend the length (set Duration) by right clicking on an effect, the software crashes.

I run Snow Leopard. Could this be an issue?

Anyone else have this problem? Is there another way to extend the effect?

Does the crash happen as soon as you right click, or when you select the duration option from the menu?

Could you try left clicking while holding down Ctrl to open the menu to see if it causes the crash?

Yes it does still crash by left clicking with ctrl.

To confirm, I get as far as entering newduration, but with first number typed, it crashes.

Thanks

What kind of object are you changing the duration of? Is it a video, an image or an effect?

Whereabouts in the duration field are you clicking prior to typing?

It's an effect.
When I click on any part of the clock, and start typing, it crashes instantly

What type of effect?

When you say 'clock', do you mean the 'Duration' window that appears containing the timecode?

I have found out what causED the crash!!!
It only happens when I set my language preferences in Language and Text - Input Sources to Welsh!

Either the software, or the Mac doesn't do Welsh!!!

How strange!
