i haven't used the software for a while so i suspect it may be a user error here but i cant figure out why effectslab is cropping the edges of my video. i have the width and height set correctly.
here's what it looks like in effects pro when i select "grade":

if i select any other option it changes to look like this:

when i render it looks like the bottom one which is frustrating to say the least.
any help would be greatly appreciated. i am using the demo version and i wondered if this was some sort of "restricted functionality"

When you're in the grade toolset, you're using the 'grade view'. Check the view option to the top right of your canvas. Change this to 'Project overview' to see the actual composited view.

If you have double-checked to ensure that the resolution of the project and the clip are the same, then perhaps the pixel aspect ratio is different from one to the other? If your project is set to standard and the clip is set to widescreen, that could perhaps cause a cropping issue. If you start a new project by selecting the clip (or image), as opposed to importing the clip later, do you have the same problem?

What is the resolution and aspect ratio of the clip you are using?

Grade view displays the current track in its entirety, irrespective of how it looks in your comp.

Project view shows your composited project.

That's why they look different. The layer is cropped in project view because it's larger than your canvas.
