Hi everyone,

I've been playing around with VisionLab Studio for some weeks now and finally bought it a few days ago. I'm not chasing any Oscar nominations (for the moment wink ) so, this is just for fun.

One of the main reasons for purchasing VisionLab was its simple but effective particle engine which I've been checking out for the better part of the evening now.

I have been trying to generate some simple smoke. And in order to give a little more life to it I was going to simulate some wind/turbulence too. My first idea was to animate the environment gravities direction. But this doesn't seem to be possible. Maybe I missed something here? Any ideas? (Or alternative ways to add some wind?)

Thanks for your help in advance and greetings from Bavaria (which is covered by a very unpleasant layer of non-particle snow at the moment...wink )

cu,

You can animate the emitter angle, which you can use to create fluctuations in the movement. The emitter angle can be adjusted using the rotation wheel in the 'particle creation' section.

Hi Tarn,

thanks for your answer. I tried that and I think I can use this approach to add a little fluctuation to the particles. So far the result isn't as 'wind like' as I hoped but maybe it still needs a little tweaking.

Do you have any idea why the environment gravities direction can't be animated? The 'emitter angle' seems to basically use the same controls, so it doesn't seem to be a technical issue.

Thanks again,
Helge
