How do you import sound effects?

I cant import sound or music I tried clicking on import media then I click on sound effects and choose one then I click open and it loads but then it dosent show up anywhere so does anyone know how to import sound effects?

You don't.

Fxhome software aren't for soundediting, they're for visual effects. You can't import sounds into either of the programs. You will need your NLE for that (Final Cut, Premiere, Vegas, iMove or even Windows Movie Maker) - whatever it is you use to edit your videos, that's where you need to add your sound effects.

I render my video and then I downlod it to Imovie but on Imovie it is really scrachy and it has bad quality

Can you be more specific? Unfortunately 'scratchy' doesn't mean much in regards to exported movies. Do you mean there are problems with the sound? Or low quality images? Or do you have interlaced footage like this?
