Is it possible to combine two effects of the same kind? I want to do a preset of glowing octahedrons with each side a different color (for a 2001: A Space Odyssey project). I am aware I don't need to do this if it's only for myself, but I'd like to post a preset to the website. Help please.

You can't combine two layers on the timeline into a single preset.

However, using the optics engine it shouldn't be hard to create several shapes in different colors such as you describe in a single layer, so you should be fine. Similarly, you can have multiple shapes in a single layer of a Neon Light effect, and include them all in a single preset.

If you need two layers for the effect you are creating, however, then each layer has to be a separate preset, and they should be clearly labeled "Part 1", "Part 2" etc. and include instructions for how they fit together.

Okay, thanks for the help! My presets will be a spinning one and a still one, by the way. That would be next to impossible without tracing a 3-D figure like I'm doing.
