I have two issues in terms of rendering my footage. The first has been occuring several times lately... I click render, and after 2 frames, the program suddenly shuts down on me! although i do save my work progressively, it is very annoying because i still waste about 20 min worth of work.

The second is, although my AVI files get imported in a 1280x720 format, it does not EXPORT in the same size. Please help!

We'll need a bit more info to identify specific problems.

What render settings are you using? What codec did you select when you rendered? What project settings did you use, and what are the specifics of the format of your footage.

If your project is exporting at a size other than 1280x720, then your project settings are likely set at the wrong size.

Well, that's also a problem. Despite the research i've done, i don't know which compressor/codec to use.
The compressors that I am allowed to use are:
Cinepak Codec by Radius
DV Video Encoder
Microsoft RLE
Microsoft Video 1.
I'm using Divx format right now, exported in high definition. Should i instead be using AVI?

Ah, i found the issue. It's the fact that i've exported it in DivX format that causes it to freeze. As long as i do Avi, it works fine. I just need to find out how to keep the video in a widescreen format.
