I was wondering if it was possible to create an effect that will allow my green screen subject to either tear through the initial background and come through it??? I would really love for the effect to look like their head is just coming through then have them come through completely....

Either that or have them grab it and throw it away and have another background in place...

Can these be achieved and if so how???

There are probably a couple of different ways to do this however it would be quite complicated to try to explain. It'll probably take some real work to get it to look right too. Does it have to be a greenscreen? Could you extrapolate?

No problem, you've come to a great place to learn. I would recommend starting out with watching the video tutorials. The program is quite easy to master once you get the hang of it.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
About your original question, it'd probably possible, it would just take some work to do. What type of backgrounds where you thinking of?

If you want it to look like the original background is tearing and folding as he comes through, by far the easiest way to do that is to print out the background on actual paper and have him come through. which isn't difficult, but isn't exactly cheap either. What makes it very difficult to do with a video background is that the background footage would have to be warped and bent to simulate the changing shape of the 'paper', which could prove rather tricky.

Having him reach out of frame, grab the edge of the background, and slide it off the other side, revealing a new background behind it, wouldn't be very difficult. That could be done pretty simply, by having him pretend to slide it out of the way in front of a greenscreen, then just animating the background to slide off in sync with his movements.

Thanks so much.... so to make the background move is it like making text move?? just need to be in sync with my person's movements of moving the screen out of the way???

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me.... I appreciate it.
