Photography/visual art (cpostudios.com), herpetology (snakes), Scuba diving, competitive Super Smash Bros., lock picking, hydroponic plant growing, Mac computers, blogging, Taekwondo, Soccer/Tennis/Table tennis, fishing, self discovery, etc.

I do a lot besides filmmaking.

You mean besides when I'm competing in grammar and punctuation competitions at Uni? Hmmm, that's a tough one. wink

Nah, just kidding. smile Some of those images are pretty cool, by the way. I guess my computer building/programming are hobbies and just gaming and chillin' mostly. I also enjoy kayaking and airsoft when I've got time.

Great idea for a thread man

Graphic design, acrylic painting (legit portraits, not quasi-abstract interpretive stuff), literature.

And rhetoric and sketching and architecture and sartorial studies and web design. And photography, and being Texan, and fraternity life. Etcetera.

What type/wattage lights are you using; high pressure sodium? Are you having success with your setup? Indoor gardening can be a very fun hobby.

I'm actually using CFLs right now, since my parents are paying electric. When I get my apartment this Summer I'm upgrading to a 400watt HPS setup, very exciting.

Beat boxing, guitar, adventuring, rap-battling, drinking, deep conversations, biking, seeing live music, and other stuff I can't currently think of.

Video gaming would have been up there until very recently. I learned that it doesn't offer me anything to benefit from. In other words, all those hours I spent playing Halo/COD/Smash Bros., while very fun, has gained me nothing.

Mostly pimping. And international gun smuggling. A little human trafficking here and there, but nothing major.

I also enjoy hiking, seeing the sights around Portland, cooking, hanging with friends, writing, going to concerts, singing in my band, mind expansion, and playing video games. But mostly pimping.

photography, listening to good music, helping friends with their new trip-hop/intrumental hip-hop album, painting/drawing (wierd abstract stuff), exploring abandoned factories (and an odd miniture castle near my house) with my camera, video games, and my newest hobby: meeting my heroes (met Geologist and Deakon from Animal Collective a few weeks ago, best day ever)

Yep I pretty much only do art stuff... not big into sports and what not

Unrelated to Poseidon, but 210 bench on good days, 190 on most days. In high school, it was much higher.....partying college has taken a toll on me. biggrin As in, I don't hit up the gym anymore, almost ever, but was surprised I can still hit that 200 mark. When I was weight training in highschool when I was 16 and 17, it was around 220, 240.

This is off topic, but do Americans automatically measure weight in pounds? Because, if not, you must be enormous. Here we measure weight in kilograms if that was unclear.

Wow, that's pretty good. I'm still at 185. It's better the other freshmen, but we've got some sophomores benching 225 and 235.

It's pounds. We don't use kilograms, like at all.

Yeah, we don't use metric because that would make way to much since. I never understood why. I just automatically think of things in the imperial system, but if America where to switch to metric tomorrow, I think I could get used to it really quickly.

We use pounds. Get over it. It's not "not a standard", because hey, we've used it for a while and that's how things go. It's not like Brits started using the Euro when it came out for currency, right?

But yeah, pounds. The weight measurement. Which would be between 90 and 100 kilograms. More on the 90 side, though.

I would quite like to hear other fxhomers musical endeavours, that could be fun. So, if anybody wants to put a link to some audio or something, I would enjoy that. Go on, somebody start that off... I don't want to be the first person to do it, because then I'l look like an egomaniac who used this post as a cover.

Aside from graphic/logo/web design, which I do as my career, I'm also a consultant in advertising and idea-pitching/packaging work on the side. I treat it as a hobby. I'm fairly well-suited for it on the filmmaking end of things though too, so I don't know if that counts as 'aside from filmmaking', but whatever. smile

Here's my old band's myspace page. The songs on here are about a year old. Our guitarist quit in October. He was really good, but he was kind of a jackass, and no one liked him. We're currently in the process of finding a new one to start a new project with. Haven't found anyone good enough yet.

Hobbies?

Playing games and, specifically, writing about them - which gets around the problem FreshMentos mentioned. http://potentialgamer.com

Podcasting about film, TV and other things - http://spiffingreview.com

My main thing is writing, though, and I'm currently approaching completion on my 2nd novel. I blog about my writing (and other things) here: http://simonkjones.com

On top of that, just took up tai chi, which is awesome, and am looking into learning various swing dances.

My hobbies are music (I play drums for Below the Smile), hiking, metalwork (chiefly crafting swords), archery, photography, reading, weaving chainmaille, cooking, and probably a few other things that I haven't done for a while but will get back into at some point.

Of late, its been chiefly music and photography.

Lately, my life has consisted of school, work and filmmaking, so I haven't had much time for other hobbies. Also, I knocked my front two teeth out with a baseball last week, so even those activities are going to be limited. But when my life changes back into "regular mode" my hobbies consist of: Playing guitar, baseball/football, listening to music, reading, a bit of weight lifting, theater-going, and just chilling with my friends.

Not terribly interesting, but so is life.
