As we apparently move towards summer, everyone here at FXhome HQ has found themselves suffering from a particularly nasty cold. Four people have succumbed so far, with another couple dosing up in an attempt to cut it off at the pass. If anybody knows of a plan by a rival company to make us ill, please let us know the antidote.

It takes more than a spot of illness to stop us, of course, and our projects are still barrelling along at full speed. I'm currently working on a new series of Spotlight articles, taking a closer look at filmmakers that have caught our eye around FXhome.com. If there's a particular project or filmmaker you'd like me to cover let me know.

I'll be kicking off with a fresh interview with Sam 'Mechaforce' Gorski and Niko 'Sidewinder' Pueringer, creators of the megahit Modern Warfare: Frozen Crossing. The last time we talked to those guys was way back in 2004, believe it or not. Keep an eye out for that article in the near future.

Meanwhile, Jack just returned from spending the last three weeks in India. He's informed us that while there he was attacked by a couple of monkeys, one of which punched him in the leg while the other stole his drink. This is of no great relevance to FXhome, but is undeniably amusing.

Well best tell you now. We've hired the Mafia to make you spill the beans about the "project Xlab." Tell us what we want and the colds will disappear. Seriously however, tough luck 'bout the illness. Hope everyone gets better soon.
Looking forward to the spotlight articles. Good luck.

Make that five. sad

Fxhome Dude - I knew it! You'll go to any lengths, won't you? Of course, if we all get ill then nothing will ever get finished...

At least as Jack only got back today we can rule out any kind of crazy monkey zombie virus.

Ah yes, DXM. I was but a youngster back then, rarely participating in the forum but always watching and learning from the great legends of Alamdv.com. biggrin

I'm looking forward to the Spotlight on Mechaforce and Sidewinder. I remember when they took off (for film school, wasn't it?) way back in the day. I'm interested to see what they've been up to since then.

I don't know about you guys, but one of the thoughts I wanted to see in this fan film is of the two warriors walking up on one of the fresh corpses.

WARRIOR ONE (taking of his belt)

WARRIOR TWO: "What are you doing?!"

WARRIOR ONE: "I'm going to teabag him!"

Maybe it's just me confused

Tarn,
Make more tutorials like the Wizard Combat, or the monkey assault will continue in the UK.
You've been warned.

In all seriousness, I can't wait for the articles. I wish that there were more places that I could learn about Vision lab.
I love the facebook page, but it could use some more updates and all..

Cheers!

Yeah, we could definitely do with making the Facebook page a bit more exciting. What kind of thing would you like to see on there?

Add some of the more professional films to the Facebook; Coalition of Heroes, Get Lost, some of the Atomic films, Mr. Fox, Art of the Saber, etc.

I feel really old.

FXHome though... took me to Switzerland twice, I met a Mad Genius named Marco and a man named Arktic who liked to chew his toenails.

I'm pretty sure when I joined there were only a few active members on the forum as well. Now this place is an awesome hive of activity!

In regards to the facebook page, I'd love to see stills of works in progresses, maybe short tutorials, or examples of color grade filter combinations.

Maybe discussions on the best ways to achieve certain effects.
even reposting some of the twitter stuff on the facebook page as well.

As much as I love coming here, sometimes I forget. But facebook is quite easy to get to from wherever I am.

In regards to the film, I only discovered FXhome this past christmas, so that's my excuse.

That being said, I'd totally buy from Bud.
