A new Feedback section has just been added to the FXhome.com community menu. As you know, we're always developing our projects, whether they be existing or future products. A vital part of this process is understanding what you guys need, so that we can steer the team in the right directions.

The first few feedback topics focus on your filmmaking and photography habits, so that we can have a better idea of what exactly you do with your skills. Head over to the feedback section to see the available topics.

To say thank you for your time, every survey you complete gets you 25 FXperience points on the forum and also automatically enters you into a monthly prize draw to win an FXhome product.

Easiest 75 FXP I've earned in recent times. Feedback given. I look forward to seeing what new products or upgrades will come of the feedback from the community.

Notice the specific tilt toward photography? Maybe it's a new photo product....hmmm....
But anyway, feedback given. Use it or lose it.

Submitted the filmmaking one. A few of the questions were a bit tricky to answer, seeing as I sort of fall between two categories. I'm mostly a film hobbyist, in that I haven't made any "serious" films on my own yet, but I am also being paid this summer to do vfx on a real sci-fi feature that is shooting in 3D in my town right now. So I'm a student enthusiast part-time professional. smile

Did filmmaking one. Most of the questions were easy, but I got a bit stuck on the "how often do you participate in filmmaking" one. Cause I'm constantly writing scripts and making effects for fun, but I rarely get past the pre-production stage.

Thanks again guys, we've had a great response to the surveys already. It's all very, very helpful.

In the case of questions where you fall between several potential answers, simply go for the one that is most accurate for your current situaiton.

I know how feel. 25% of my films fail in pre-production, 25% fail to come off the camera after I shoot the film. Another 25% fail in post-production because I think they're not coming out good. The last 25% actually get finished...Good to know I'm not alone.

Lucky. 80% of my projects fail in pre, 10% fail in post, 5% get through and are terrible, 5% are good.

Why not put all your energies into one film that you carefully plan and revise through multiple drafts? Surely quality trumps quantity, and your time would be better served on projects that don't have an 95% chance of failure! wink

Yeah, the biggest reason for projects failing is when you have too many projects on the go at once.

Stay focused, work fast.
