I just received this software and played around to test it. I saved an image with a background and it saved in PNG at 1.5 mb...then when I edited some more parts of it in Photoshop Elements, and saved it as a jpeg, it saved it at only 456kb even though I had selected maximum quality which always saves my jpegs at at least 1.5-4 mb on average. Anyone know the reason for such a huge loss? I can't print 456kb files through a ROES system. I also tried saving as a jpg, and it wouldn't save and so I tried saving as a tiff. It saved as a tiff in PK at around 20 MB but again dropped all the way to 1 mb in PSE. I always use my PSE for editing photos and never have low quality compressions unless I select to save at low quality. ??

So Photoshop Elements is drastically reducing the file size of your images? It would have to be a combination of the pixel size of the images and the compression used. You might try checking the Adobe Forums or some Photoshop-specific sites as well, maybe someone there would be more familiar with issues relating to that software.

Is PSE drastically reducing the quality as well, or do the images still look ok?
