This is a pretty simple and basic question, but how do you extend the duration of a given effect.

For example, I was playing around with the Wormhole Preset. It only lasts 3 seconds, if that, and shows the wormhole forming, barely giving enough time to even attempt to cycle the last bit of footage in editing.

There has to be a way to extend the duration. It looked like I might be able to do it it by clicking the arrow at the end of the preset down on the timeline, but that doesn't work.

You can extend any object using the crop tool, then dragging out the out-point frame of the object on the timeline.

Check out some of the interface tutorials, particularly the timeline one:

Doesn't work. Everytime I try to use that, the clock icon pops up, and then nothing happens.

EDIT: Nevermind, I have to hold down on it. I still get the stupid watch icon, and it is pretty slow, which kill the accuracy of adjusting the length. Frankly, the duration should be featured in the attributes.

You can also change the duration by right clicking and selecting it from the menu, of course.
