I opened Effects Lab and it said:
Director Player Error
Script Error Continue?
If I click no it closes the program. If I click yes it freezes and doesn't open. What do I do?
Thanks for any help!

Generally the first thing to do in this type of situation is to check the Support area of the site, where you can find articles in the knowledgebase such as I'm getting a Director Error when I launch EffectsLab. How do I fix it?
Follow the instructions there and you shoule be good to go.
If you can't find anything relevant in the knowledgebase or video tutorials, then submitting a support ticket is the way to get official support, but in this case that article should take care of you.

Ok, I reinstalled following the instructions you gave me and I reinstalled it and the same message "Script Error" came up. I deleted all the fxhome data and everything. Then a message came up after I closed down Elab and said, "You chose to close down the non-responsive program Macromedia Player" or something like that. Is that the problem? Is macromedia somehow doing something to Elab? What does macromedia do anyway? Isn't it Adobe or something?

Try restarting the computer and re-running Effects Lab if you haven't already. I do believe that Macromedia is tied to the program, but it *should* fix by restarting, assuming you followed the clean reinstall instructions and downloaded the most recent update.

Macromedia Projector and Director are third-party programs used in the development of EffectsLab.

Ok, I just reinstalled it for the second time and i restarted the computer like DVstudio said and the "Script Error" message still came up. And yes it is the latest version (1.5) or something. I also went and deleted the file for it in my documents. Nothing has worked. This is getting really frustrating since I was supposed to have a movie done by now but since Elab is down I can't edit it. If anybody knows anyway to fix this please help!!!

I am having the same problem. I have been working on this project for over a month and I had to trash it to try and get this problem fixed. I have restarted my computer, trashed all files and presets from EffectsLab and still nothing. I didn't want to do this because I lost a months worth of pretty much nonstop work on my video, and the last time I tried downloading a preset it wouldn't let me, so I am pretty much screwed now. $150 down the drain.

When you re-install, it isn't necessary to delete your project files. You can save them, and you won't lose any work.
Assuming you already carefully followed the instructions for a clean re-install in the article linked above, making sure not to skip any steps, have you submitted a support ticket as Simon suggested?
