a section for user made sound effects, would be cool if people made and submitted their own sound effects for our films aswell, i had a play around with an old version of soundforge and was amazed what type of stuff i could mix together to make effects (like lasers and ship flybys) , i reckon this would be a good addition to the community...

whadya reckon ?

That's an excellent idea. A sound FX file-swapping system, more or less. Maybe call it SlamDV?

a section for sfx has already been discussed and even, I believe, was in the works by the alam crew early on. But it always comes down to bandwith and clogging it. Hey! making a web site is easy - go ahead and post a link to it on the ultimate link page! I for one would visit.

I agree with Billy3D (have +1 on me, bud). Scope Entertainment also stands to gain, 'cos it'll garner a lot more hits smile

Yeah, we had a sound downloads page once. There was the bandwidth problem and also the problem that AlamDV doesnt export with sound. It was rather misleading for new users because AlamDV doesnt manipulate sounds at all.

Lots of people have requested a site like this, so im sure it would be popular. But I dont think we're really in a position to make it

I've got loads of sound effects but they're all no good. When people fire weapons it sounds like they're playing the spoons. What'd be a good idea for a sound effect is if someone could somehow steal a sound from "The way of the gun" There is a black bodyguard who uses a Heckler and Koch USP Automatic pistol. It makes the ultimate gun sound effect. (Especially in the motel shootout). I don't know if that's be possible and even if it was I wouldn't be able to figure it out, but it'd be pretty cool. (I think it's only in that film where the Heckler and Koch USP makes that noise.) If someone had a site with loads of right good sounds on it, I'd visit it and spend hours and hours sat in front of an editing suite with hundreds of variations of gunshots thinking "Hmm that bang or that bang"

Yeah, theforce.net has some cool SFX, but remember, not all of us are into making Star Wars movies.

what a great idea! +1 given!

i appreciate the suggestion about scope-entertainment. right now i want to get the cinema done so people can show off their other films, not only ones using alam effects.

also, the agency will be a feature (that thing metellius is making).

if you guys really want it, i wouln't mind, but i WOULD need some help with it.

i may have mentioned this before, but I have a heavy underused web server... I could both make and host a system for sharing and download sound fx!

maybe even get it to work together with the agency!

yeah that's an idea...

I have 200 mb's, and that should suffice for quite a few sounds...
