I am running on windows 7, 64bit 2gb RAM. When ever I open a saved file, a director player error pops up saying

String expected
[#hack: #idle_app]

and then

Index out of range

After that I am unable to see anything in the canvas or render(it just says the same message and halts the rendering). This only happens when I open a saved file but is very annoying. Please help me sort out this problem as it has occured on my previous laptop aswell.

Is this with a specific project file, or does it happen to every project file?

Are you able to open the example projects from the welcome screen?

It occurs with every file, I am able to open the examples and edit and save them and they work fine. Maybe it's something to do with the creation of the save file? It's happened on my old computer and I've installed the latest version following the clean install technique.

What kind of media are you importing to the projects? Does the problem happen if you save a project file with no imported media (ie, just a single muzzle flash on the timeline or something)?

I've tried a muzzle flash and it seems to work. I crashing projects have a few particle effects, video and some footage from the footage: special effects DVD.

It could be that the video is causing some problems. What format is it?
