Hi i dunno if anyone can rememeber the game Monkey Island? Well in that theres a huge 100 odd foot pirate barge boat which Glows, its the ghost ship of LeChuck, well i've written a screenplay for the whole thing, and filming is scheduled for start October 2002, so there is plenty of time to make it, but the sooner the better!

What exactly i need:

A Pirate Ghost Ship
Perhaps with ripped sails if possible, never mind if not and just leave it with the masts and stays etc only...

if you don't understand what kinda boat im talking about then i mean:

As you can see here, i needs to be cut at the water level, otherwise it will just look as though it is floating in mid air...

It needs to have a light blue glow, like the dead guys from star wars, i dunno how im gonna do the reflection yet, but i'll worry about that.

Thankyou LOADS for ya help if you can do this you are a star! razz

That was from the film GOONIES lol

as for cutting the bottom, i suggest you add a mask or 2, this way you have more control over it.

(edit) I've just spent the last hour look for your ship on the net, the nearest i came to it was Galleon 3ds but the ones i found they wanted money for.

maybe someone could find it under some other name.

I agree with the masks thing, and use 1 of the soft edged masks, as water isnt hard. Also, you might want to use a few circular masks and move them along the hull of the boat to simulate waves. For the reflection, if anyone could make an animated mask that looked like rippling water, then you could just use the ship plugin and mirror it to the first ship, and cover it with the mask. Make sure the ship moves smoothly up an down, as it wouldnt jump over waves, and bear in mind this is quite a heavy ship, so it would take a long time to do things, turn, stop ect. If your going to have sails, they would have to be aimated, or it would just look like a still image floating on the water. And finally, a boat this size would probably have water splashing at the front, and a wake at the back, so maybe you should get someplugins for water effex made aswell.
Hope this helps.

i've found this one, it's free but not as detailed as your picture

http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/vehicles.asp

it's about the 6th down called flying dutchman

I don't think it has sails, even though the picture shows them.

let me know if you want that one.

That one looks pretty decent! Definately worth a go see how it turns out, it would be better without the sails definately...
