Why are my movie overlays covering up my foreground images?

Movie overlays? I'm not sure to what you are referring.

However, the Overlay layer will always cover the foreground. It lays over everything else in the composite, so the foreground and background layers will always be under it. Background is on the bottom, foreground is on top of that, and overlay is on top of that.

A bit more detail regarding the problem you are having would help in providing a clearer explanation or a solution, if one is still necessary.
