I checked out this video and was stunned at these special effects:

Of course being the avid director and editor that I am, I checked out this company's "making of" video...here:

These guys are amazing, though they did not use Effectslab Pro, I have to commend them on a great job for special effects.

What are some ways or suggestions you guys have that can possibly help an editor like myself make a good special effects-filled film such as this? I mean, that grenade launcher explosion, the bullet holes in the car window and hood, the minigun...

I'd like to also make videos like this smile

Aside from some solid compositing, and some very novel cardboard weapons, the primary thing they used to get the effects you're looking for is Andrew Kramer's Action Essentials 2 stock footage collection.

It's very popular, and seems to be used in just about every amateur action scene being filmed today. It's one of the most professional stock footage collections you can find for the money, as far as I know.

Looks like the real deal.
Aside from this side, where can I get some good FREE stock footage...that would be nice.
