I am running Photokey Pro 4. and i use a Canon EOS Rebel XSI camera connected to my pc using Canon EOS utility with remote capture to load photos instantly into a folder i specify.

If i just run the EOS utility it works great.. files get loaded into the folder quickly as is great.

when i load up PhotoKey 4 Pro, i can manually add these pictures in and it works fine.. But if i turn on the Hot Folder in Photokey pro 4 to read in the folder that the EOS utility is dropping files into.. it all locks up.. seems like Photokey starts preventing the EOS utility from writing additional files in. not sure whats going on..

ive tried it on three computers.. two vista machines and 1 xp machine with the same problem. ive tried several versions of the EOS utility incase there was a patch.. but no luck.

hoping FXhome can help resolve this issue as its critical to the automated processing.. that i was hoping to use in Photokey 4 Pro

I believe we did testing here with our Canon 550D and the Canon EOS utility and it worked just fine. Hopefully Simon will feed back more information soon.

Hi Adam,

Sorry for the issues you've been having with PhotoKey 4. As Schwar has already said we did some testing here with a Canon 550D & the latest EOS Utility & it worked just fine.

Could you please detail the exact steps that you took & if any error messages are displayed and I'll happily look into here for you right away.

Also I believe there were a few changes we had to make to the settings within the EOS Utility, I have detailed these below. Maybe worth giving them a try.

Within the Preferences of the EOS Utility change the following under their headings:

Destination Folder:

Remote Shooting
(these should both be ticked)

File Name:

Do Not Modify (Download Images)
(this should be selected from the drop down menu)

All Images
(this should be selected from the drop down menu)

This is how our EOS Utility is set-up here in the Office.

Kind Regards
Ady

I didnt have "remote shooting" checked off and when i enabled it, it seems to have helped resolve this issue.
not sure why it would make a difference as either way EOS utility writes the photos into the folder
