I'm putting a gradient on a film that is going to be shown from a computer through a projector.

My question is: anyone know if a projector makes it look more like a television or does it keep the same 'look' on a computer.

This gradient I'm putting on looks awesome on a computer but not so much on a television.

Thanks!

Will the projected signal be coming from a computer or a video source, like a DVD player? If you are gonna plug your computer into the projector, it should be fine. If you are gonna burn it to DVD and then play the DVD through the projector, then you are going to want to grade the color for television.

Thanks for the reply. I believe its going to be on a DVD being played in the computers drive and the projector is connected to the computer.. whew that was a mouthful.

In this situation should I grade for television?

Thanks again!

I'm not certain. I would take a short clip of the footage, graded both ways, and drop the two clips into a dvd project, burn a dvd, then play it back on your computer, and see. Pick the one that looks best on your computer, and it should look the same running through the projector.
