unable to import movie video files to CompositeLab. Was able to import photos, but not movies, Help.

Your movies have to be in .mov or .avi format. Also, its a good idea to use a good editing codec, and not one of those super-high-compression-ratio capturing codecs that every HD camera in the world seems to use a proprietary version of.Knowledgebase Article

Personally, I convert mine using Final Cut, while I am copying the files to my harddrive. How exactly you go about it will depend on what software you have available, but even the free editors like Windows Movie Maker or iMovie should be capable of exporting a file to either .mov or .avi.

Thanks for the help Axeman. for some reason Window Movie Maker converts my videos to WMV and I can not choose what format it converts to. Did find a free trial converter and made a segment MOV and was able to import it then to compositelab pro. Thanks again.

Yeah, microsoft seems to have removed all functionality whatsoever from the latest version of Windows Live Movie Maker. If you look around online, you can find an installer for WMM 6, which will allow you to export to DV-AVI. And provides better editing tools.
