Hi,

I've recently upgraded to PK 4 Pro. So far, it's great. I have only one question so far. When I shoot a series of pictures, I prefer to have different backgrounds for various shots. However, the Batch Export seems to only allow setting a single background for the export. I tried setting the 'Unique' option, changing the background then moving on to the next photo. But, only the one background appears for all the shots.

Anyway to set the background differently for multiple shots? If so, please let me know what I'm missing.

You can't use different backgrounds within a single batch.

Batch processing is basically a way to apply the same settings to a lot of images at once; if you want to use different backgrounds for each one, then it is really more of a process of working through the images individually. this is also possible in PhotoKey 4 Pro, but its a bit different from Batch processing.

Using the unique settings, you can adjust the position of the background image in each shot, to create some variety, as well as apply filters to specific images to further alter the background on an image-by-image basis.

The ability to process multiple images with multiple backgrounds is something that a number of other users have requested as well, and will be considered in future versions of PhotoKey. But for now, you can either batch process images with a single background, or process them one at a time, adding the background you want to each image.

Thank you for your reply. I would also like to request that feature as well, I was under the impression that this would be possible in PhotoKey 4 Pro. I'm sure I misunderstood, but it would be nice to have that feature an a new update for PK4. I have a shoot coming up in a few weeks that would definitely benefit from that feature.

A workaround tip that might be of use:

You can run multiple instances of PhotoKey at the same time. Therefore you can have several versions of the application open on the same computer, each with slightly different settings (including different backgrounds) but set to the same hot folder.

If you set them to auto-export, you can then have each version of PK processing the same photograph with a different background (and other settings you want to change).

Of course, make sure you point them either to different export folders, or give the filenames an identifiable prefix/suffix, otherwise it could get messy. smile
