I haven't used Effects Lab in quite a while. I am re-editing some old footage to put lightswords and other effects in. How will effects lab lite limit me in this? Also, is there an upgrade option to pro, if so, how much? I couldn't find any upgrade option in the store.

I'm pretty sure that the Lite version is so old that there isn't an upgrade path anymore. It's been over 4 years since the latest version of EffectsLab Lite was released.

For lightswords, EffectsLab Lite shouldn't limit you really, but there is a chance, depending on what the other effects you need to create are, that some of them might be trickier. I'm not sure if there is still a list around of the differences between the Lite and Pro versions, since its been so long since it was available. But, if you can explain the specific effects you are after, then I might be able to tell you if they are possible, or what the best way to go about them would be.

Just simple lightswords, masking and clashes...that's pretty much it...

Lite should be fine for that, then.
