Well, I'm currently writing a sci-fi series that I'll make some time this year, and I'm trying to work out how I would go about doing a decent shockwave. There is a preset for it in the FXpreset Library, but I can't quite get it to work the way I want it to. Plus, I want to have all the dust flying and everything. If you've seen Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones or Corridor Digital's TETHER, you may know what I mean. Is this possible in VisionLab/EffectsLab, or would I need to maybe create it in CGI or do it in After Effects?

Thanks,

-Jam

In Star Wars, do you mean Jango Fett's sismec charges, or when the ship takes off and all the dust just starts flying everywhere?

The latter, with the ship. I think I can already do the seismic charges, athough I have no real applications for it at the moment.

Ok here you go! Just give it more of a "dusty" and "solid" look, and you should be good!

Thanks! As for how to make the seismic charge...I'll start putting a tutorial together, but I must warn you - it's quite a lengthy process. Hopefully this new tutorial will also help me to make it a lot more convincing.
