At the start of April Sci-Fi-London are holding their annual 48 Hour Film Challenge. With timed challenges being something of a tradition here at FXhome, we thought we'd check to see who is taking part this year.

This year there are two teams entering from within FXhome itself. Schwar, Ross and Rebecca are heading up one, while Tarn is linking up with the same It's A Trap crew that made The Orphan Factory at last year's event. Rumour has it that FXhomer Joby 'er-no' Stephens will also be forming a team.

Anybody else doing this or any other timed events this year?

Does this have to expressly be done in London?

If not, would anyone be willing to get the kickoff materials and turn this in for our team to do?

It's national now, and you receive your brief by text and can submit by internet. I'm not sure whether that works for people abroad, though.

Hell yeah, I'm setting up a team. Whether or not I'll actually be physically able to compete is another matter! Work is throwing me around and I might get sent abroad to film so won't be in the country. But at the moment, I'm getting ready to make a movie in 48 hours.

I was thinking about entering Tropfest again. I did not get anything back from the judges or anything feeling that my $50 was not spent well, but if I try again it'll give me another chance to get my work watched by more people.

Good luck to all entrants of every film contest!

Yep, my team is much more structured than last year, when we just turned up on the day and figured out what to do. This year we've got a schedule all worked out with built-in wiggle room depending on the brief we get. In theory should be less frantic than last year while yielding better results.

...in theory! smile

We've decided that crazy is best and will just attack everything on the day... although we do have some ideas we are more thinking 'what prosthetics and makeup can we do?' biggrin

I'll be there again this year... in London, once again. It's a great challenge and can be a lot of fun. This year I will be taking part with the crew of my new gaming website - www.finalbossfight.co.uk and we have a couple of really fun ideas to make it even more interesting... We will be announcing more details at the weekend, hopefully.
