Rotation problem

If you want to show something fly out of the screen, like a head shot off flying to the right and rotate, my problem is, is if your subject' head is on the right side of the video, and you use a garbage matte to separate head
when i rotate the head in the animation the axis point is in the middle of the uncropped video, so when the head rotate, it flys around the canvas. is there any way i can choose the axis point by which the animation rotates on?

I'd recommend creating a version of the head in GIMP or Photoshop that is cropped to the head's size. The origin point will then be correctly positioned for the kind of rotation you want to do.
