As we revealed in the Christmas video, 2011 is the big one for us. Everything we've done for the last 10 years has been leading to this. We're not yet ready to throw wide the stage curtains but we have been releasing little clues here and there, whether on Twitter, Facebook or here at FXhome.com.

When the official announcement comes, the community will be the first to know about it.

Can you release any info on timelines?

Even if you can't be too specific... maybe narrow it down to which month/part of the year you plan to widen the stage curtains and fill us in on what you have been up to??

I can't be too specific....but you probably won't have to wait until the winter. wink

With all these things there's always a lot of factors, some less obvious than others, and it can be a little like spinning plates. Things will all slot into place soon enough, though, and I hope you'll like what we've been working on!

As always, thanks for your patience - it's been a long road to get this far. Everybody here is excited to show you guys what we've been up to, once those curtains finally come down. razz

Although we dont know what it is yet.....Sounds great !

Hey, i should imagine most here have missed some or most of these subtle hints, i for one have.
How about revving up the communities excitement by including links to all the little 'hints' you speak of and put them into this thread. Hell, you guy's could have a competition to get a free copy to whomever is the closest in their prediction on what is coming based on all the hints.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

All this talk of a new product (a video one at that) makes me drool constantly. And try to rob a bank for some extra money to order it when the time comes. (See you after probation!)

I had been thinking something similar, though. Although if you go through the 'What is it?' photo album on our Facebook page you'll see most of the stuff and can start piecing the hints together. smile

LOL Me likes a good challenge ! ! !

AHHhhhhh, im not a member on facebook but i managed to be able to get access to your little 'What Is It' gallery of 7 pics.....

So this is my take on what the pic's mean.

1. That is a couple of graphics cards in there, which tell's me it is either GPU acceleration or Crossfire/SLI support or both.

2. The 'Product' goes full 'dual monitor' support

3. HMMmmm.....Much more online/interactive support/interaction, even the illusive 'Vault' finally up & running, appart from that, hav'nt a clue.

4. In the center is the official Logo for this new/modified product, the left object signifies 2D and the right one signifies 3D ---- We're going 3D Boys & Girls WOOooooo HOOooooo

5. Now this is the visual representation of a camera sitting in 3D space made possible by the new/updated software, or the logo on the button you'll click to create a new camera in you nice new 3D composition.

6. This looks like a 3D composition with the new softwares logo plate set in the background while another plate of some 'out of fucus' buildings is set in the forground, all of course being viewed through your nice render camera you dropped in the scene by clicking item 5's button.

7. It's a secret and im not telling you razz

If im right i must have a Tufty Badge biggrin

LMAO

While I'd love to have AlamDV4, why don't ya just spit it out already.

Now I'm gonna have to fax over some forms, just to feel special...

Otherwise:

Site revamp. Functionality/aesthetic facelift. 3D manipulations/applications program. Boom, spoiled on a guess.

My guess would have to be a 2D or 3D tracking program and maybe some type of NLE program. The one picture is a revamp of the website.

Personally I think/hope it'll be something completely unrelated to Vlab, as far as I hope it isn't a Vlab upgrade. I'd rather it be another stand alone piece of software that does something different. VLab, imo does exactly what it needs to, and although I don't own it, based on what I've seen in Elab lite (which I own) there isn't much too much more you can ask from at this price range. I'd like to think that Vlab is currently "complete" and this new software does something else, maybe an NLE or something. But who knows really?

I think it's safe to assume that you're going to be spending something on this, whatever it is. Fxhome haven't spent the last several months hyping this up, saying that 2011 is THE year, for it to be a free upgrade to an existing product. My advice is to save cash anyway, and then if it ends up being a free upgrade, you'll have some extra money laying around. wink

Serpent is on to something here...
