EffectsLab doesn't do sound, its a visual effects program. All your audio work should be handled in your main editing application, or in a dedicated audio program.

As Axeman was saying, you'll need to use a non-linear editing program to create your actual movie. The lab products are for things like adding special effects and grading footage, which can be exported for use in your editing software.

If you're looking for help with effects, take a look at the video tutorials:

Really what you should do is start in your editor so that your sound and video are present, then export a clip to add effects in the lab products, then import that video back into the editor so that it's aligned with the original clip's audio. That way, all of your audio is retained in your NLE.

If you want to retain sound through the process of bringing the clip into the FXhome products, read this:

Where did my sound go?

Make suer you rendered to a format that is compatible with your editor. If VideoPad can't work with Quicktime files, for example, then make sure when you Render out of EffectsLab you Select AVI in the Render Settings.

Oh, but it will. You have to Render, as I said in my previous post. I encourage you to take a look at the manual, at the video tutorials and at the Knowledgebase to help you learn the basics of the program. For this particular issue, the knowledgebase article, How do I export my video? should sort you out. It is also covered in the Essentials section at the start of the manual. Most of the other questions you might run into are also answered in those resources. If you do run into another that you can't find an answer to, let us know here on the forums.
