cant import movies without error messages

image streams and pictures are fine but i cant import videos even if their avi. messages like
somtimes with a <void> under it. the messages comes in two. some messages are the same but never the same in a pair. after i click ok or cancel or the x in the box for each two messages effects lab freezes up.

Do you get the same errors for .avi and .mov files? Does it matter what codec the .avi files are in? Is your DirectX and Quicktime up to date?
If so, then a clean reinstall should clear up Director erros, as detailed here.

Just re-installing the software won't correct this, you need to exactly follow the instructions for a clean re-install that are detailed in the article I linked. Its more involved than just deleting the software and re-installing, in case you didn't look at the article yet.

i just tried the clean reinstall and it didnt work. the message i usually get is the hack and object message pair but every once in a while the messages are a bit different.

I had this problem its the audio stream convert the video and do not copy and audio stream.

i dont have audio yet because its a stopmotion. i ususally put the pictures together with windows movie maker,convert it to avi,effects convert it back to wmv and then audio.

I am getting the same error messages (in VisionLab). I tried rendering out my clip in a few different formats and it appears to only be struggling with HD formats. The template that I'm using to render from Sony Vegas is "HD 1080-60i YUV". I don't want to downgrade my quality just to get it into Visionlab. Any ideas?
EDIT: I'm using Windows 7, I did a clean re-install, and downloaded the latest DirectX.
