Upgraded our PhotoKey 3 professional to PhotoKey 4 professional to enable us to use the auto processing function.
Arrived at a large charity event and the first thing we find is that we cannot print landscape. In fact the print preview window will show landscape for a few minutes then revert to portrait. Have raised a ticket with FX support but have only had one response so far. We can save image as composite file and print through another program but we are here to make money for the charity and anything that slows us down looses us revenue.
Any body else having problems with this printer Kodak 6800 and PhotKey Professional 4.

got the same problem here. Printing with the Kodak gives the error you describe, with our Sony UP-DR200 printers we don;'t have any problems in combination with PK4Pro.
For the Kodak printer we now still use PK3Pro. The problem is being investigated by FXHome but they haven't found a solution yet.

Thanks for your post confirming that apparently support for the Kodak 6800 has been dropped by FXHome either on purpose or accidentally with the release of PhotoKey 4 professional. The end result for us was a total disaster causing the amount of money we raised for the charity at our seven day event to drop to a ridiculously low level. We are now faced as no answer has been forthcoming from my support ticket that we will have to purchase another printer as we have yet another charity event at the end of the month and cannot take our system out as it is just not reliable. We still need to get the Kodak 6800 working with PhotoKey 4 pro for future use as it will serve as a spare when the workflow is heavy.
In all this failure has cost us and our charity a lot of money. We have used Photokey for a number of years and I was one of those that strongly suggested that FXHome should automate the green screen workflow. This they did in version 4. I had to pay $100 for this version as it was not available for free update. We lost takings due to the fault and now it looks as if we will have to purchase a new printer to continue. Not happy.

Hi Paul, I'm really sorry about the problems you have been experiencing with this printer. I am still working with the developers here to investigate why a printer that worked fine with PK3 is having problems with PK4. As soon as I have any further information on this I will of course let you know.
I understand this is a very frustrating situation and I hope we will be able to resolve it for you soon.

Could it have to do anything with the support of EXIF ? That the exif output someway says that the photo is in portrait? And that this makes the Kodak printer makes it print incorrectly?

Further news re our problem with the Kodak 6800. We are considering purchasing a new printer following ur problem with the Kodak 6800 and had picked the DNP DS-40 a top of the range dye sub printer. I had asked FXHome if they supported this and the answer was "we don't know there are to many printers to test them all". I raised this here in the UK with a very prestigious organisation The Event Photographers Society their chairman downloaded the trial of pro 4 (noting the warning that certain printers were not supported) when he went to print a landscape picture he had the same fault. So it seems pro 4 has a major bug in it. My support ticket is still live and the matter is being investigated by the research and development team. It would seem that I am going to be forced to go back to version 3. The agent for the DNP printers Photomart here in the uk is also investigating this situation.
Will keep you informed.

Thank you for the update Paul. We are looking in to the problem and what kind of solutions there might be. Could you guys recommend anywhere in the UK where we can hire a 6800 printer from for our testing?

Its getting worse for you, stagecrew? Is there a new symptom, or an existing symptom that occurs more frequently? How is it getting worse?

Not sure what you mean, my point was that originally the problem seemed to be with our Kodak 6800 printer now we have two other (Cannon PixmaPro 9000 and NP N-40) printers that appear to suffer the same fault when used with PhotoKey 4 pro.

I had a similar problem with the new Mitsubishi D70 range when it first launched. it would print in any orientation fine from the OS on macs and pc's but not rotate from Photokey. This happened in the office when testing before an event luckily. So I just set up a hot folder to print anything that came in, then exported from pk4 rather than printing. It's just as quick.
New drivers from Mitsubishi quickly fixed that problem, and they work great with both Lion and Win7.

Thanks for your message. Yes we were caught on the hop before our charity event as we shipped the kit out without a full shake down, big lesson learnt. The problem is still on going but being actively researched by Fxhome. We have today purchased a brand new printer a DNP DS-40 so we now have two urgent reasons to get the bug in PhotoKey 4 pro fixed.
We have reverted back to PhotoKey 3 pro until such time as 4 is fixed.

I have given the new installer a quick try on our new DNP DS-40 and all appears to work. As I explained on my reply to the support ticket our Kodak 6800 has not returned from our latest event so am unable to test this at present. My first concern as to whether the extra mouse clicks needed to print would slow us down but they appear not to. I say this as on Saturday we photographed and processed 50 portraits at a wedding in just two hours! So speed for us is of major importance at this type of event.
Thanks for your efforts still disappointing to purchase software and find it doesn’t work as previous versions have.
I am away for a week as of tomorrow but on my return will carry out some more tests and report back to you all. Has anybody else tried the installers yet would be good to hear your results?
