Hi everyone. I was thinking about the BrickFest the other day and I thought how cool it would be if we had a contest like that with any type of film (lego, action figures, real people, ect..). Do you guys think that having our own Star Wars Contest to see who can do the best special effects and which film has the best concept is a good idea? I was just thinking.. If you guys don't like it or there is something else going on at the time, just tell me here. Or if you think it is a pretty good idea, post it here and tell me why or why.. OR maybe why? lol Ok? Ok. Bye and if you think this is a good idea but think it should be about something else then just tell me. Thanks and bye.

I say JUST Star Wars. (This has nothing to do with the fact that I'm in post production right now of my Star Wars movie Rebel Alliance) wink

I hope everyone knows that I am just kidding. I am up for whatever!!

Yeah I aint a big sci fi fan. Although I won't even have Alam dv until november and all my time will be filled up with post work on "Sunset in a beretta's eye" (book your seats now lol ) So I won't have any chance. I'm just posting my comments in case there's any like minded people out there. It's a good idea to just see how many good outlandish sci fi effects you can fit in a short piece of film. Go for it.

Ok. Thanks for the feedback guys! I don't know about only starwars, and I don't know about anything more.. Star Wars films are VERY popular here and alot of the STAR WARS films made with AlamDV are very good biggrin !! So with a Star Wars contest there would probably be a "BIG COMPETITION" between everyone who enters. And SW films have alot of good affects. And it can be any type of film. Legos, action figures, people, a pair of speakers, a few flashlights... Anything. But tell me if a contest like this would be good before I make the deadlines and what the movie has to have and all. Ok. Bye!

Dude, I have 2 dells!!! I just saw your sig. Ok. So I guess I will tell you almost everything here..

A films/trailers must be 1 minute mininum and 4 minutes max.
No film can have any type of cursing or innapropriate scenes.
All films MUST be Star Wars.
Films can be made with any type of animation/characters (legos, people, action figures, ect...)
Films MUST contain at least one lightsaber duel.
Because this is a special effects contest, there must be atleast 3 special effects (lightsabers, explosions, force fields, ect...).
The first day I will take completed films is October 28, and the deadline for contest entries will be November 10. If anything needs to be changed with the dates I will change it later if people tell me to change it. This gives you 1 month, and 13 days to make you entry. If I left something out (which I might have) then I will come back later and fix it.

Alright, I got that over with.biggrin. So you have a month in a half to do this so far. And later I will tell you what some thing I expect from you are, and who the judges are, and some other stuff. BYe.

Oh and, I will be entering the contest myself..
With Legos!! And I am thinking of entering the trailer of a film I am starting to make called, "Star Wars: Stranded Jedi". I have already made a test film for this movie and it was 15 minutes long!!! So I am expecting this movie to be just as long. And for the space scenes I am not bluescreening, I am using ALAMDV2. Its easy! And the trailer should be about 1-2 minutes and the trailer will feature I'd say 2 saber battles so be prepared. And if you have already made a SW film you like and you want to enter it, sorry. And this is going to be one of the questions in the FAQ I'm making..

3. Q: I already made a Star Wars film that has alot of good special effects and it meets your expectations so can I enter it in the contest?

A: No. If you made a film before and it meets our expectations and it has alot of good effects, no it cannot be entered. Why? Well because if you make a film and others have seen it, it isn't good for the audience's vote and it isn't good for you. But if you started making a film earlier this month and you are still working on it, you can enter it as long as it is done in time! biggrin. Other than that you better start making a film!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok. That should clear a few things up. And that is one of the rules I forgot. lol Its one of the most important! Bye and if you have any questions please tell me here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok. Now for the judges.
There will be alot of judges. There will be me, 2 of my friends who make lego films with me, and everyone who votes for your movie. When the contest is over all the films will be posted here and will be put on a website, and then I will make a poll here and everyone who has seen the movies can vote for which movie they likedbest. Then we will count up all the votes and average them. And its not just special effects. Its also the story of you movie (how good is it?) and the special effects. Now that should clear up some more. ANd remember, if you have any questions please ask me here! Bye.

I think reducing this contest to Star Wars is nonsense and unfair.

Ok. So how about all the CGI films will be judged together, all the live action films will be judged together, and all the stop-motion films will be judged together. Is that ok?
