This short CGI film was made for the competition that DarkJedi has started.
This film is 90% ( yes 90% ) of plugins, this means 90% of everything thing you see is a plugin. mostly 3D plugins
Only a few things are not, such as the titles and background.
The Story is based around LORD OF THE RINGS, and in this we see Aragorn, Gimli ( Dwarf ) heading off the the middle earth for the last

This is probably going to be cool.. Because I cannot stream on Internet Exploror much, I am downloading it now. For some reason it is going SLOW! It should be about done by now because I have the fastest DSL modem, and it is not plugged into a phone-line. A full review to come soon!

Has anyone seen this, i can watch it but can others, i see 23 people have either viewed or tried to view, if you do watch it and don't want to comment please vote at least we will know it played ok for you.
On the same point, geekshelf was recommended to me ( i'm thankfull to you for that ) But i know other people were recommended it, it might be worth checking geekshelf out first before commiting it alamdv, you might have the same problem as me.

Hopefully when b4uask comes back online he should be able to sort it out straight away. Earlier he uploaded it to my webspace and although slow it is more reliable than the current one... now he just needs to rename it and move it to another folder (i cant do that because I don't have fetch or dreamweaver on this mac).

not sure about mason giving it 0 I would have thought he would have waited before voting to see it.
i've never voted a 0 if i can't view it, i just wait untill i can,
( so malone if you could delete that, it would be great
, my other film Stargate had so many people join just to give it a low score and then never to be seen again, i didn't want the same to happen to this film
why me,,,, wo have i upset....

i gave u a five for that has to be hard to do CG for every sceen and for that person for not watcing it and rating but even if that hadn't happened it still would of voted 5 good job keep it up and now for some constrictive critsiam (or how every ya spell that) some (not all) of the people were stillted but most of it looked good and mybe the music could of been more intense but overall good film.

5/5, its something very special and you know my opinion on the difference between special and 'dreamboy'. Glad I could help, I can tell a lot of work went into it and the soundtrack is just... fantastic! (did you make it
Now I trot to apple.com to watch the Two Towers trailer.
Yay! My webspace works.

b4uask, you have really outdone yourself this time! Brilliant stuff
! 5 stars without batting an eyelid - it's that good
A few areas that could be improved on, however: 1) The sound effects
: somehow they didn't seem to gel well with the visuals (they lacked 'oomph' or impact); 2) The opening titles
: I liked the motion paths but not the general look of the 3D text elements (in particular the texture and bevel-type chosen); 3) The Character Animation
: could've been smoother, but I appreciate the difficulty in animating 3D meshes, so I'll just shut up
On to the good points: 1) The Ending Sequence
: It's going to stick in my mind for a loooonnnggg time. The 'camerawork' on that entire ring-flying-through-the-air sequence was outstanding. I was really moved. 2) The flock of ravens
: flying majestically past the camera was another great shot; 3) The 3D Characters
: They looked great! They didn't move all that well, but they were well-conceived and well-rendered.; 4) The AlamDV2 Plug-ins
: they worked supremely well throughout the movie - applied to perfection!
Just curious, what did you use to animate the characters? My initial guess was Poser 4, but Motionbuilder could be a possibility as well.
I think a few tutorials are in order, mate!

I gace it a 3, for creativity… thats all i mean there were no creative camera angles the beggining tittle were nifty and well done over wise good use of music bad sound effects no voices overs i do not see how any one could give this a five, but if this was for best use with pluggins sure 5 heres how i split things up.
5 creativity with pluggins
0 acting (voice acting)
1 sound effects

Thanks for your comments Phage,
you have some good points, i think i should have done a voice over, but the whole was only 2 mins, seemed a bit quick.
Anyway thanks for your vote, at least it's better than the 2 you gave to stargate.

I just saw your movie and Im not sure what to vote:
the 3d animation is great, but the soundeffects are to short. Try to set the soundeffects volume at an lower level and use some reverb (it works for me
The best scene in the movie is the one with the birds. That scene in combination with the music was great!!
To make that scene allmost perfect, you can blur some birds, to accomplice some dept of field.
The main 'problem'with this movie, is that the scenes don`t match (colour, 3d / live action / effects). I don`t know how to avoid that, or make it better.
Maybe it was a better movie if you concetrated everything into the birdscene and made that one perfect.
Im sorry, but I think I gave you a 3 ( 5 for effort, creativity, 3 for Alameffects, 1 for soundeffects, camara-angels)
Please, see this post as something you can hopefully learn something from.
Good luck with your next project!!

I'll just give that link again. in case it's brokehttp://www.geekshelf.com/gallery/lincon/stargate1/onebattle.mpg
But it did not take long for someone to knock me down from 3rd to 9th,
i was really praying it wouldn't happen with this film
( it did with stargate )
someone voted on spellmaster 5, ( which is no.1 ) and 3 on mine ( which was 3rd going on 1st ) of course this person has only ever voted on those 2 films, and does not come on here much ( at all )
still, i think i'll make my own site hosting films and it will be from $%£$%

don`t get this to personal, but I think you must enjoy filmmaking more, and be proud of what you can produce. That someone give you a 3 (I also give it a 3) sais nothing about how you actually feel about your movie. For you it can be the best film YOU can make, be proud of yourself and proud about your films.
This is for other people:
WHEN YOU VOTE ON A MOVIE, PLEASE GIVE THE MAKER SOME FEEDBACK, SO HE / SHE CAN PRODUCE A BETTER FILM NEXT TIME THAT YOU ENJOY MORE AND MORE
B4youask: stop crying, be proud!

Dude, he is not crying or anything of the sort, he is rightly peeved off because 'non-users' just downgrade his film to probably keep their film in the top 10 or something... that sucks.

I had the same problem with my film "strangers" a lot of people gave it a 4 or 5, but there was one person who gave it a 0 (ZERO!!!!!!!!!) Ok, I was mad for a second, but that changed when I re-readed the possitive feedback from people like b4youask and Solltar.
Also, my girlfriend, parents and friends liked it Anyway, so I don`t complain.

Well "b4"...what can I say that has'nt been said?.....IT WAS BRILLIANT..
the whole FEEL of the movie was just right...the "Gladiator"track I thought was a perfect choice. This is the type of movie I'm currently trying to sort out. The effort to do a ALL animation film must be AWESOME.
This is a valuable contribution also to the AlamDV Collection.
I would be extremely proud of this if I had done it.
There will be a lot of questions for u on this one.
A no hesitation 5 for this.

B4youask and all other members...
I've been criticized for being part of the Spellmaster Team and voting for them and no one else. I've also been acused of giving your film a low score...
It's all false. I didn't start voting for films until recently and those happen to be the only two I voted for. I ranked spellmaster higher because it had better use of FX, sound integration, and plot - they've been making spellmaster shorts for a long time and this tied it together. The One Battle, however, had cheesy 3D animations of characters and terrible sound integration; thus the low rating.

I gave it a 2. I personally think this movie is at the basement dogs - homeless joe's journey - the deal level, but without the comedy . . .
That's all I'm going to say, because people get pissed at me when I say why I really didn't like a movie.

Ooooo.... Ahhhhhh..... You might not have known this, but if you read what B4Uaskmale30 wrote in the box that explains about the movie, you will see that this movie was intended for my SFX Contest. I, personally, do not really get mad at people when they say a good movie is bad.. That is their own opinion, and I respect that. I don't think alot of movies are all that. Some are good, and some are bad. So, that is all I gotta say for now. Bye. ANd remember, all contest entries must be turned in by November 10th right now. Bye.

No one has picked up on the 3D plugins, 90% were plugins.
If you look at the skele warriors i think they looked quite good. ?
The are in the plugins section, ( i really made this for 2 reasons, 1 was the competition and the other was to prove 3D plugins have a place on alamdv.)
Even the birds flying the people said looked good was a plugin that is also on alamdv.

Yea, I saw alot of plug-ins from the plugins section. It was pretty good. The titles at the beginning were, of course not a plugin, but the ring looked like one, and I could tell the first was... The 3d animation was pretty nice. I didn't notice any jerky movements like others said they saw. So I don't have that many negative posts about this... Bye.

What kind of 3d app did you use? (I have Blender right now, and I haven't figured-out how to use it yet.
) If it was blender, I guess I need to start figuring-out the program, because your CGI was quite good!

Man... When did you upload this one? It's the second of your films I overlooked und just see now cause it's in the top10...
Very cool one! I like the 3D animations (what did you use to animate? Poser I guess, right?) and the feeling of the pictures was just right. I thought the music was a little to "sweet" for a battle scene (even though Lisa Gerard has a beautiful voice) but yet this gave the film it's own flair.
The only thing I thought ldidn't look so good was the magic fire destroying everything... That looked somehow weak.
But everything else was pure class!
