As some of you have already noticed, we are beginning to introduce an awards system for submitted plugins. To promote excellence in plugin making, selected plugins will be given a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award.

The Gold Award will represent the absolute highest standard of plugin, a combination of excellent production values, innovative ideas and usefulness.

The Silver Award will represent highly accomplished plugins that just fall short of the top grade but are nevertheless still highly recommended.

The Bronze Award is for plugins that are a level above the rest, ensuring quality production values, but are perhaps not as innovative as the Gold and Silver Award plugins.

As we have over 500 plugins to assess, the implementation of the new Awards may take a little time.

Keep up the good work everybody!

Another cool idea from CSB-Digital which will undoubtedly bolster the AlamDV community spirit even further biggrin

It'll provide greater incentive for people to make plug-ins too.

I would suggest just starting it from now, it could take you ages to go through them, and we all know the first batch of plugins are top notch and will all recieve the top trophy.

I think if you started from now it would give us an aim to be better and produce better.

Eg: when i started here i had a tiny light sabre, i knew ( like everyone ) i wanted a bigger one.

If i receive a trophy for work I have done in the past then my aim will have been already reached and so less inclined to do my best.

Does this make sense. crazy

So you don't want the force points that you'll get via any awards, then, b4? wink

As for going through all the plugins, well, it's only fair. And it won't take as long as you might think...(I'll just be a shrivelled, withered insane wreck of a human being by the time I'm finished)....

cool

How about the tricky business of rating modified plug-ins? i.e. those that are modifications of previously released plug-ins? I agree with the gold, silver and bronze awards, but not necessarily with the conferring of force points because that might open a can of nasty worms biggrin

We need to get little icons for our names if we get a gold or silver or bronze!!

just shrink the size of the cup, and stick it near the plugin symbol!!

i mean, you JUST CAN'T HAVE ENOUGH little symbols near your name! they're figures of authority, you know!!

w00t. I like this idea a lot, more chance for me to get some extra force smile I had like 4 bronzes and a silver, but didn't get any force. Do you only get force for making a gold plug-in?

Wait Malone (I almost called you melon again! wink ). Are you giving force to only people who made plug-ins that got trophies, or are you giving force to all the current plug-in makers? I didn't understand clearly when you said you would be giving force to all the current plugins. So, which is it? Thanks.

Force will be decided by the randomizing method of printing all the plugin previews out and throwing a can of worms into the air. Then letting the worms devour the pictures they like the best for a couple of days. Then assigning force based inversly proportional to the worms healthyness compared to that of a small blue hedgehog.

Or in laymans terms, I havent decided smile
