Hi Everyone,

We've had some dodgy people emailing users and asking for them to send them certain AlamDV2 files because their files are apparently corrupt.

DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE ANY FILES!

The files they are asking for are those that contain your serial information, upon sending these files you are giving away your serial and therefore invalidating your license agreement - meaning your copy of AlamDV2 will not work in the future and you would have to buy it again!

If these people had really corrupted their files they could just reinstall AlamDV2 - there is never any need to send any other user or non-user any part of your AlamDV2 program. If anyone has a problem they can come to us to sort it out or download the files directly from the website.

The same goes for some people that are asking for plugins. The plugins are made for AlamDV2 users, not for random people who just want to use them as some kind of graphics library.

I've met some of the nicest people I know on the AlamDV2 community and it is a real shame that some people out there are trying to take advantage of this. These emails are both dishonest and misleading, so the best thing you can do is forward them to us ( team@csb-digital.com ) or just ignore them entirely.

Thank you and good luck,

Schwar.

I forgot, turning ALAM plugins into gifs is ridiculous on the face of it because a number of them STARTED as animated gif files and then were converted to alam by enterprising members.

The FADESKULL for example that I used as the Flaming Underworld Tortured Soul in "Legacy", it had been a gif my website HERE

www.hometown.aol.com/strahd27/Nebula.html

for months before I saw it here as a plugin. If these alam thieves would just pay attention they could save themselves a lot of trouble.

BTW, whoever converted Fadeskull (Kermz?) Thanks. Killer isnt it.

Hi here is Hedbang
I am sorry. I didn't know you have to pay for the plugins. I didin't understand this "about plugin thing". I'm german and my englisch is not the best ,hey I´m sitting here with a dictionary, I tought that this is a circle of filmmakers, who trade their plugins with other users, but I never thought that there is a pay thing for plugins. The only thing I can say is sorry sorry sorry I and will never send such dodgy e-mails again.

I hope you understand me

Wait a minute. There is something suspicious here. It says you joined 71 days ago. That is almost 3 months ago. I don't think this date thing is wrong, as it is correct for me. With this amount of time I think you would have learned that you need to pay, because I think you would have tried to get plug-ins, and I think this story of filmmakers trading is fake because if you joined 71 days ago you would have tried to download plug-ins from the plug-ins section, and would realize that you need to get a serial number by paying.. Either the date you joined is wrong, or there is something VERY suspicious about you.. Just a inference, coming from an observation... biggrin

EDIT: Yes. I just checked your profile. It says you joined August 18th. Pretty suspicious, if you ask me.

Yes. But, if he really DID join August 18th, and didn't post ANYTHING on the forums, so what. He joined, he would have done something probably. I mean, it is pretty obvious where the plug-ins are, so I think he would have gone there.. You never know. The forums really have NOTHING to do with it, but if je joined the forums back then, then he would have beem on the site, back then. This is just my observaton.. To me, its a little suspicious. To you, I guess its not.

Hi here is Hedbang
I wanted to get to know the programm so I downloaded the demo and I registered myself here because I thought that with the registration the plugins get avaiable to download. As a german pupil I can't send 79.23 Euro to USA/England only for testing one plugin (a flying bullet like in "The Test") that isn't contained in the demo. I have no credit card or something and who of you can tell me that this Netbank is save.

Bye

lol The translations were poo, but I still have an idea of what's going on. I suppose both parties have a point. Maybe CSB-Digital should release a basic plug-in package (e.g. 1 plug-in from each category?) for use with the demo. It'll 'bait' people to purchase the program, and it'll put an end to the "I don't have enough plug-ins to fully evaluate AlamDV2" arguments. smile

Here is my take as to why so many may be trying to 'steal' or evaluate the program and the plugins. True, some may be up to some dastardly doings while still others are legitamete. Me for example, I have not purchased the program yet. I am the epitome of amateur. I have not made one movie, short or clip. I am just fascinated by special fx and would like to learn how to do it. The most I would do is shoot a small clip of my son flourish it with some wow-wee grafs and fx and show it to him. I would never post a clip or send it to anyone so that is my main hesitation in making the purchase. Granted, compared to other packages it is relatively cheap... but $80 US is still $80 and it don't grow on trees. $80 just to dabble with an interest to see a couple of enhanced clips of my son is too much. So perhaps others feel the same and they are trying to beat the system. I am against that type of behavior so I don't do it. But if they are in the same boat as I, then I can understand - I don't agree... but I understand.
