Just thinking about the people that use a 56k modem.
Some of the films on this site are over 10 mins long and could take ages for you to watch.
This also goes for people that use geekshelf ( as it might be slow on a braodband connection )
Please add to these if anyone has other ideas.
1. when you first log onto alam and see a new film start streaming before you read posts, by the time you have finshed reading and posting the film should be finished
2. download it insted of streaming, right click on the play button and save target as.
The reason I say this is so many films have been given a low score with the comments " I could not watch it " or " too slow to download"
it would be sad to see this happen for those people that have to use geekshelf.

I'm on 56k ....tell me about it!
I use DAP manager to download, usually overnight. All the files I've come across are "resumeable" which helps with "time out "problem...just set
the auto redial and even the biggies are within your grasp.
After watching them I stick'em on CD for storage.

The DAP and GOZILLA are FREE......Download.com.
When using these managers with AlamDV make sure u select single files
or you'll get knocked back by ALAM.
I've used DAP for a while and its perfect for 56K'ers.I've downloaded files up to 180mb.
