I think all the videos should B submitted as Quicktime files, as it works on PC and Mack, as other file types only work on PC, and I dunno how to work Windows Media Player.

I still think the Realcodec is one of the best seeing the filesize and quality. But everybody hates it - I guess because they didn't find the "bannerless mode" of the Realplayer yet... smile

Quicktime or Mpeg-1; I personally like the Windows Media Player format (*.wmv) but I don't think it's very stable on Mac platforms yet.

Mp4s!!!!!!!

Use quicktime, and compress your movie in Mp4 codec. The SOUND DOESN'T FRICKEN CHANGE, BUT THE SIZE SHRINKS TO IMPOSSIBLY LOW SIZES!!!!!

We got a 40 second movie, with no change in audio quality, and a slight change in video quality, at somewhere around 500 by 400 resolution, 30 frames per second, down to 2.9 megabytes!!

Get quicktime pro 6!

It's very easy to do this too!

Everyone has a different favourite (as you can see from this topic already). Which is why we dont want to restrict everyone to one format.

Even as a company we cant agree on a format. The types we accept is just a list of formats we think are reasonable. As long as the format is fairly standard, and one of the csb team can play it, then we will probably accept it.

We used to accept real media, and I personally think it has some redeaming features. But the player is abysmal, its like a virus the way it takes over. So I refuse to install it, and so does the rest of the crew, so we cant review those films. If someone submits a movie in another format, so I can review it, then I am happy to put up a real media alternative too.
