I haven't used EffectsLab in months, during which time I got a new computer. Ever since then, when I try to open a video file to start a project in the program, I get the following error messages:

"String expected
[#hack:#exit_lock_true]"

"Cannot divide by zero"

Does anyone have any idea what this means? I did a complete wipe and reinstall of the program, and it didn't help. I was tempted to give up and buy HitFilm, but I personally think EffectsLab makes better lightsaber effects.

All I can say is that it has happened to me too, except with the project files. I completely discarded those projects and had to start over, cause i could not get them working at all. Lucky they were small, and easy to replicate.

I would contact support for something like this.

Is the problem when you try to open a specific video, or when you try to open any video? What format is the video?

The problem occurs for videos from my HD video camera that I've used with EffectsLab all along. The format is MOV at 1920x1080. I've also just installed the lastest Quicktime, DirectX, and graphics card drivers.
