Hiya!

Tis moi.
Just looking at your site, you could be missing out on lots of potential search engine positions (and hence traffic) because your site aint optimised for them properly. I'm a search engineer, id be happy to make some recommendations on how you can improve it! Just shown you below how many searches are made for the keywords currently listed on your site, so u can get an idea of whats going on... remember, a high number of searches is not neccissarily good... as achieving a top position is very difficult, i can explain if u want more info...

The first number represents the amount the word was searched for over the last week (over most search engines) Obviously these are only rough guides, and by no means exact. The second number is the predicted amount for the next week.

these keywords are in a pretty desperate need of a revamp.

Oh and one quick thing, there are no spaces in between the commas in your keywords, by most search engines it will be considered as ONE VERY LARGE KEYWORD!!!! + in keyword terms, muzzel will be considered an entirely different word to flash, hence the term muzzel flash will not be picked up.

You should also be aware that you are palming off with words such as Photoshop etc. this can be considered as illegal and many big companies get very touchy about it unless you are directly offering information about it. Also bear in mind, people searching for photoshop will probably be looking for photoshop itself, not alamdv, so putting in keywords related to what your products offer works MUCH better.

Hope this is helpful, ill be happy to make reccomendations!
Just my 10 cents smile

If i can put my 10 cents worth in.

The nice guy above made my sargate site and put it on search engines.

I now get over a 100 hits a day, ( not bad for a limited type of site.)

Yeah, to be honest I dont think we've changed the keywords since the site was originally created.

I find most of the major search engines dont even bother checking keywords anymore (they are a fairly unreliable description as most of our keywords show razz ). The better search engines look at the actual content.

From my logs I find a lot of web searches actually point to things people have written on the forum. People searching for things like "microsoft dv codec download" end up here just because people having been discussing those codecs on the forum. While they might not be specifically looking for AlamDV type software its still very good advertising and gets the name known.

What would really help us out is if people made text links to us from there sites. And made the text things like "cheap special effects software" or "computer special effects" or even "starwars style lightsabre software". Basically using terms people search for. Its well known that google (probably the biggest and best search engine out there) rates things very highly when lots of people link to you, and also uses the text of the link to assign search terms.

So if people put code like this on their sites or in signitures on other forums we would be very happy

cheap special effects software

I will have a go at thinking up a better keywords list when I have some time. Id be interested to see what keywords you would suggest

Yeah google.com especially bases its results on content of the page...
in terms of google, things are measured like this (and google is one of the biggest and best)

URL
Title
Content
Description
Keywords

Thats a basis for most major search engines... but keywords are never ignored, even if they dont play amassive part, they help emphasise sites subjects...

The google rank is based on content and quality and quantity of sites linking to you...

I would reccomend making special pages about the program and what it does in detail regarding film making, special effects, lightsabers etc. very heavy on keywords and adjectival words in the title also... this should work a treat.

Keywords shouldn't just be single words, you should chuck in some phrases and things like that as well...

I see you've got lotsa sites linking to you already,
