I think this way has to be done

voting for everything is just insane -- i recommend these modifications are to be done

3 voting options and 3 seperate sections of the top 10

the 3 voting options consist of

1) when submitting a test clip then make it so it can be put in that catogory

2) when submitting a trailer then make it so it can be put in that catagory

3) when submitting a full short film then make it so it can be put in that catagory

its easy to implement i believe all you have to do i catogorise each submitted film is place in which ever catagory is suited for this film, then we can have 3 top tens for each catagory and when we vote it wont effect any of the 3 catagories accordingly, we can then see who does the best effect, trailer, full short film etc...

people looking for what they want to see is easier and more accurate to the voting system

any more ideas on if this can happen ?

Thanks

I again agree (there are a lot of topics like that... What happend to them and especially - to the suggestions?)

What about splitting the votes into cathegories too?

story -
camera -
editing -
sound -
acting -
overall -

or something like that

Sollthar: that's fun, but too complicated for everyone. I like the 3 category idea.

Maybe on the front page, it could show the most popular(downloaded) ones, like the old top 10.

I personally like the idea of having lots of parameters. I think it'll push movie makers to try to fulfill those criteria to the best of their ability. I think the categories that Sollthar suggested should be reserved to the "full short film" domain, though smile

the most downloaded films at the moment would be all the ones in the top ten, until we get back " you may have missed this film "

When ever a new visitor comes to alamdv the first film page will be where the top ten is. cry

so those just out side the top ten won't get a look in cry

Thats very true. I know when I first came hear I really didn't look past the top 10 films (except for ones I have gone back and viewed). Its not because I don't want to watch all of them, I really do, its because they seem to never catch my attention with no direct link. I am guessing.

I agree with Sollthar, i have been trying to say what i think of theese things when i comment a movie... it would be so much better, and i think the voting scale should be longer then 1-5 maybe 1-10 or something like that...
