I dunno if this has been brought up before but what the hey
For voting of films, rite now the voting is being done overall on the movie, or on effects, or whatever the persons wnats to vote...
Why not have 2 new ways to vote, keep the one now, so voting on the movie overall, then add 2 new ones, effects, and story
maybe hvae a top 10 effects and a top 10 story?
just a thought

Personally the voting this is just fine, BUT there needs to be mroe sections which movies can be entered it, and have differemt top 10's for tests, previews, short movies, and full movies.

Yeah that seems good too, it is kind of off comparing tests to movies

hey i'll let you lot work this out....
x's film ( rebel alliance ) film has got a vote of 2 by
he joined 1 hour ago and have voted on 11 films ( all voted 1 hour ago ) and x's film is 40 mins long, so who thinks it's a real vote ?
you can't download and watched 11 films within 1 minute ( all viewed 1 hour ago )
seems fishy to me. anyone agree
( not to mention that rebel alliance is worth more than 2 )
Wentpostal gave Visions of the Darkside a 5
Also ( not trying to be funny ) but Visions of the Darkside
has had a lot of people join and just vote on that film.... ?
I now think to end all this that only members should vote ( sorry to honest people ) but this will stop accounts being made.

I like the idea of keeping the voting open to non-members (because it'll get the public involved in AlamDV and the AlamDV forum), but unfortunately that leaves the system vulnerable to abuse. It appears that b4uask's suggestion is the only way to go...

Someone is rigging votes. They already took care of some of them but it is sad because the people here are too busy to be vote police. I do want t o caution that it may have nothing to do with anyone from "Vissions of the darkside" It could be someone who just picked that movie to vote up and is creating accounts to vote others down. The other day I watched 4 votes high for vissions and the same people vote 3's for Rebel and other top tens until vissions was higher and they stopped. 4 votes in under 10 minutes. I then did some math and came up with of the 38 5 star votes for vissions 25 joined since the film posted. 18 of those 25 voted down a film in the top ten. (None of them voted for more than 3 other films) 9 have posted a message 100% glowing review for visions 100% negative for another movie if they posted more than once. Again, we don't know who is doing it or why. If who ever is doing it reads this, please stop. Myself and others worked very hard on this movie. If someone doesn't like it and votes it down that is fine it is your opinion. (I also have the opinion that you would be wrong
) but please don't vote rig. If you made the film you should appreciate how hard it is to make a film and if you are doing it for someone else I am sure they would not like to get false votes.
The voting has always been off but I think having only one section contributes to it. I would love to see a movie section and a clip section. Someone just posted about my movie and basically said they were judging it as a whole, which is fine but.... Is that fair to do to a 47 minute movie versus a 1.4 minute clip? Should I go through my movie, find the best 2 minute chunks and release them? I would like to see a broken out clip/movie section and a gold-member only voting. If a non-member wants to comment fine but vote no. Aren't most voting places for citizens only?

x, MY MAN, at last someone in the top ten steps out and speaks.
the truth is i was talking to Davlin and said i wonder if a 40 second clip from my new film will get higher votes than the full film,
thus the reason i uploaded the clip, when the full version come online i do think that the full film will have less votes.
I think another reason people are so stressed when getting into the topten is because once your out of the top ten, New people come here and just watch whats on the topten.
Untill the " You might have missed " comes back people will scramble for the topten.

The you might have missed section was very cool. We have to remember that what ever we suggest someone from the ALAMDV crew has to implement and support. I think that because of that we should
1. recommend this product to everyone we know.
2. thank them often
3. offer them cake if they do it.
So far I think that having 3 sections would be best. Clips, shorts and movies. Being able to vote on Concept, directing, acting, story, camera, editing, sound, overall would be cool too. I would limit it to gold members only too. Non citizens can comment all they want but you have to own some realestate if you are going to vote.
