Animation test using AlamDV (B4's Blackbird), Terragen, Terranim, amd Vegas Video. Bird fades out a little early, but will be fixed in final film, which should be about 4-5 minutes. I'll be using other Alam efx, and I'm trying to go for that subtle effect. This is my first upload here...just thought it look kind of cool.

Excellent, not because my bird was used, but because i think more people should try and create with animation ( i know my friends don't turn up some times ) so i animate with the pc.

Davlin wants to try this.

god motion on th camera ( i know i said i woundn't comment but it was good )

WOW, WOW, WOW, HOLY ...... This is realy the best little test I`ve seen on the Alam forum:

You have chosen beatutiful music for your test.
It is really a 'real- looking' landscape.
The clouds move at an natural manner
The bird looks so great in your first half shot
It looks great, you can use it easily in an Advertisement for holydayresort or something.

I CAN`T BELIEVE MY EYES!!!!!!!

I can`t stand your doing a great job, and Im sitting here with no inspiration at all. Now I have the inspiration to make my own dreamworld. First I try it in Cinema4d7, then I try Terragen!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW again!!!!!

Thanks for the comments. Now that I've finally uploaded something here, I will feel like I can begin to comment on other films.

For the landscape I used Terragen and Terranim, both free programs. I setup my "world" in Terragen, which took the longest...mainly to get the atmosphere and the Sun the way I wanted it. In Terranim, I played around with the camera path, and set the path to "target" instead of "camera".

Terranim creates a script which Terragen uses to create an image sequence. I set it for 30fps, and output each frame as 720x480. I used a small program called bmp2jpg to automatically scan the images directory so that it converted each frame to jpg automatically as they were being created in Terragen.

In AlamDV I imported the images directly as a "stream", which saved me from having to first put the images into an AVI file. I added the blackbird, and output to AVI, which I imported to Vegas Video. The second :scene: ib the test was simply a still shot from another terrain, and Vegas can pan and crop images like Adobe After Effects.

The finished film will just basically be a "music" thing with various flyovers...no plot.

Later,
Montego
