Happy New Year to all our users across the world!

We hope you all had a great New Year's Eve and that you're not feeling too bad today. This is going to be a fantastic year for CSB-Digital and AlamDV.

AlamDV2.5 will be coming out pretty soon which is a HUGE update with loads of new features as well as support for MacOSX, QuickTime 6 and Microsoft DV! Along with the AlamDV2 update we have two totally new programs coming on in the early months of 2003, all based on our new timeline design (pics will be posted soon).

Chromanator will be the first to surface next month. It is a sophisticated chroma key and compositing/animation tool while also giving you control over colours and luminosity. Chromanator will be launched first for Windows with the MacOSX version following soon after.

We will also be releasing DigiGrade in early March which should complete our transition to a more professional range. It gives you artistic power over the hue, brightness, saturation and many other settings for any part of your movie. You can select areas to change using a vector-based selection tool and tween them over time. It creates similar effects to the $300,000 program used to alter all the colours in Lord of the Rings and is great for doing day-for-night shots and turning summer footage into autumn. I have yet to see any raw footage that can't be improved by DigiGrade. This will be available for Windows and MacOSX platforms simultaneously and it should cost decidedly less than $300,000 wink .

To tie all this together we will be updating the website over the following weeks to incorporate all the new applications into the forum and unifying the website design, so please forgive any small glitches that might occur.

We hope you all have a happy 2003 and may all your wishes come true.

The CSB-Digital Team

Does this mean we are splitting up the forums and websites, using csb-digtal.com as the hub? I know we talked about that earlier, but I wasn't sure how the final decision went.

The CSB-Digital website will remain separate.

www.alamdv.com
www.chromanator.com
www.digigrade.com

These will all link to one website with info on each program and one community/cinema/forum shared between the apps.

Will DigiGrade be a serious rival to 5D Colossus (which was used to grade Lord of the Rings) and Synthetic Aperture's Color Finesse (apparently coming soon for Windows)?
If so, Im in!

I just clicked on the chromanator.com link and it directed me to csb-digital.com. I figured that was the chromanator template you guys were going to work on. Either way, your main page is cool then ! razz

We can't really say that DigiGrade be a serious rival to 5D Colossus as its not made to run only on IRIX systems costing six figure sums and it is not calibrated for film. Synthetic Aperture's Color Finesse is also quite an expensive AE plugin at $575.

DigiGrade will give you many of the functions those apps have in a standalone package for under £50 that we can continue to upgrade with all the functions you guys need. So it may not be a direct rival for Colossus but it gives you lots of the same freedom on your home system.
