This has bugged me for ages,
some people say they can't get plugins to work, when the rest of us can.

I've just transfer alamdv to another pc, ( taking off the other pc ) and i moved all the files across.
i have it in 32bit and the latest quicktime. but some plugins show up as errors.

So we should need to work out what the difference is between the 2 pc's and that might be the reason that other people have problems
(i'll put the specs here of both, so anyone that has had problems might have something the same )
PC THAT WAS WORKING FINE

E machines
celeron 1.7ghz
224mb ram
xp home

other machine that had some problems with some plugins

Advent
P 4
1.7ghz
128mb ram

( this machine had a clean install, not much else is on this pc yet )

I have a thought on this but as a lowly non gold member (yet) I can't test it myself...

The question is, Why does one plugin work on any PC when another plugin doesn't? Rather than looking at differences between PCs, you could look at differences between plugins.
This is something you can do without having to wait for feedback cool
Check the script.txt file in ones that are working versus ones that aren't
Different PC configs might be less forgiving of spurious characters, like CR (carriage return) instead of NL (New Line).
Might this point to different versions of plugger?

Just something to check out...
good luck!

BTW, the second PC spec doesn't include OS wink

some good points ( xp pro ) on the other machine

i think you might have a point, i think the machine i used to have it on was not an upto date alamdv.

the other pc, i downloaded the newest alamdv.

( i've looked at the plugins, like you suggested ) there is some differences in the script files, ( but i'm not to smart on those and don't know if they are supposed to be like that )

but they all worked on the other machine.

Have you tryed to redownload and reinstall the non working plugins or at least one of them to see if it will work? Sounds like you lost a file somewhere in the transfer.

Hi there
I agree with B4U. I have had problems where the plugins work on 1 machine and not on the other. I brought over some plugins to my girlfriends Emachine that was using the newest version of AlamDV and most of the plugins didn't work, but they worked perfectly on my machine and using the version 2nd from newest. I tried a couple of times as I thought I might have not installed them properly but each time I got the same result. Perhaps it has something to do with the components Emachine uses. Anyways just wanted to let ya know your not the only one who has encountered these problems.

I've always found this sort of thing to be strange. Not just with Alam but with other programs as well. What works in one brand of machine won't work in another.
