Hey everyone, just bought the program(after looking at it for a year or so) so we whipped together a short clip down here in Kosovo(I'm in the Army). We had a shoot out and thought it'd be cool to have a plugin kinda like the 'bullet through glass' one but with a bullet splintering wood. Any takers? smile Thanks.

Unfortunately, this is one of the oldest requests on the site, but has not been done yet for the simple reason that it is virtually impossible. I've been meaning to give it a shot for quite a while now, but I can't imagine it coming out very good, in addition to the fact that it would be extremely hard.

I plan to try it practically ( filming wood that is being shot) rather than any 3D attempts, but I can see lots of problems that would be difficult to work around. The resolution is one thing, and matching the wood is another. Glass is easier, 'cause it is clear; but wood comes in all sorts of colors, or it could be painted. Makes it a lot more complicated.

If anyone has an idea how to do it, though, I'd love to see this plug-in as well.

My first thought was to simply paint a piece of plywood black, then shooting it. Might be easier to key out the black. I would try it, but like I said, I'm in Kosovo. Can't really go around shooting stuff. heh heh. Thanks anyway smile

get sum wood. cut a hole in it... put some saw dust and wood shavings in it tight... stick a fire cracker in and light the fire cracker!

Well, he was asking for a wood hit, and you replied talking about your black holes, and how you weren't sure if they would work or not.

Basically, you didn't help him much, and instead just brought in some speculation. It's nice that you're trying to be helpful, but in the end, there wasn't much info in your post, that's all.

Don't worry though, the negative rating won't exactly affect your force, I'm just noting the post as not having very relevant info.
