Okay, then. I'll try to explain. How are you at analogies?

Picture your movie as a canvas. Take your AlamDV paintbrush, and paint some picturesque spaceships, lighting bolts, and blood spurts. What you have at the end is essentially the same picture, just spruced up with some new colors and objects that you have painted in.

Take another canvas. Now, cut holes in it, run it through a paper press, stretch out the fabric. What you have now is a seriously warped image. It may resemble what you had before, but the change in how everything looks in it is very noticeable.

AlamDV only does the painting, not the warping and cutting. So to put it back to non-analogy form, the matrix bullet waves are not possible because that warps the footage. What is available is a smoke trail type of plugin, that "paints" a smoke trail on the path of your CG bullet. Granted, it's not the effect in the matrix per se, but it's what can be done using AlamDV's capabilities.

I hope this explains a little bit for you. Also, if you want the matrix Bullet Trail for AlamDV, go here: http://www.csb-digital.com/alamdv/plugins/plugininfo.php?id=122

Why do people continuously ask for that effect? Unless you can do some good 3D stuff, or do some REALLY good masking and distortion effects in after effects, you're not going to get it. And Nitro is right. ALAM is for putting effects over the footage, not changing the footage itself. Either find a new effect you can do that's original, or quit your complaining.

I wanted it but I improvised, I used Jet Exhast and made it transparent. It might not be good enough for you, but works for me.

this is a theory i just came up with!
Okay now since everybody wants that that watery effect then hear goes
1. Do the smoke trail in Alamdv with the SMokers PLugin, render it out on a blue background
2. In Aftereffects key out the blue and surpress in properly so there is no spill (this doesnt matter too much but the edges should be soft)
3. Now we can Precompose this Composition over the real footage with the bullet and displace it with the Composition as Source.

VOLIA! You got a watery bullet trail.

Though i'v not tested it, i'll be testing it in my Matrix Bullet Trail in AE tute
