I've been experimenting with putting my films onto SVCD cd-rw..
And its been great, with the help of TMPGENC, I've managed to get smooth, high quality playback on my dvd drive..

I've used NERO which has a built in menu builder, this also works. It means i can have thumbnails of say 4 different clips and then if you press 1 it goes to clip 1, 2 to clip 2 e.t.c

However, i was wondering if theres a programme that will allow you to do something slightly more complicated.

For example, I want it to so when you put the cd in, it shows my company logo video before going to the menu....
and if possible a scene selection like on a dvd...

Any ideas..
(please note this is SVCD on CD-RW not DVD-RW)

How do you do SVCD on CD-RW? That could come in handy for me. As you may have gathered from my question, I don't have an answer for you.

if your acusing me of downloading things then your wrong...

I got Animation Master and Ulead Media Studio Pro 6 out of my camera package. Cinema 4D is a demo, a friend of mine ordered many copies of 3ds max (He runs a small computing course) and lent me one.. i didn't download it off kazaa.

Yes,i'm asking a lot of questions... but this is about if any of you know a programme. I've asked questions on Cinema4D, 3DSMAX and a weird effect. But there is nothing wrong with that, if your not prepared to answer then don't. Sorry, i got the impression you were accusing me of something.

--------------

To get an SVCD on a CD-RW.
1) Create a normal avi file.
2) Use TMPGENC (i forgot the link, so use a search engine.. links also on vcdhelp.com. it's a free programme)
3) in the project select SVCD, then use the programme to encode an mpeg file.

Steps 2 and 3 are not necessary. As long as you get everything right when you're exporting your video in step 1.. the frame size is something really strange.

4) I use NERO, start a new svcd project.. import in the mpeg.. set up the menu and click BURN.

I don't know about other burning software.

Oh my, you took that wrong.

I meant try and read the manuals before posting. Or contact the company that makes the software.

...well then confused As for a more complicated DVD autoring program try Ulead DVD Factory. It works great, you can make VCDs and SVCDs also. Scene selection, menu background music, its really simple. I paid about $70 for it. Pretty cheap for what you get.

You could have gotten that picture anywhere. I KID! Anyone figured out how to make a video cd using roxio toast? Every time I try to make one, it says my file is an invalid format. And when It's the right format, it says something like "can't find mpeg reader. re-install toast" or something.

Now let's have everyone else on the forums bring out the photos of their 3dsmax, Cinema 4D, Maya, Premiere, Photoshop and Commotion CDs.

I have Photoshop elements which came with my scanner... cinema4d demo and a genuine 3ds max cd... biggrin

i'll admit to d/l ONE programme.... sad I wanted it to add pro logic to my films and i couldn't find anywhere to buy it. it seems to be the only sound programme that can apply invert phase shifts to one audio channel..
CoolEdit Pro... but i will buy it if i see it at a reasonable price.(its an old version)
