Could someone make a rack of logs burning, for a fireplace effect?

Thanks.

Just film some logs burning. A plugin of that would look horrible.

Okay, but how would I put an orange, flickering glow on the people's faces?

buy orange light bulb put in lamp and direct at actors.

then get piece of card and pull back and fore in front of that lamp. This will cause a flickering effect on teh actors face.

use another lamp to light the room too so that it is not just orange creating the visual that there are two light sources

You could also have the people sit in front of the fire. If there's no glow on their faces then, you don't need a glow because adding one wouldn't be realistic.

even if it isn't realistic i would still consider it if it adds atmosphere to the scene.

You will get away with this because the audience will just presume that they can get a glow on their faces.

A fireplace plug-in wouldn't have even added a glow to the actor's faces! what were you thinking?
